How do I stretch my new ear peircing out for my 16 gauge?

I’m getting an industrialized ear peircing. I have the bar and everything. But I want to know how to stretch it out..

They make a piece of jewelry that is like an open hoop and starts out at a small gauge and gradually goes up to 16 or 14 gauge. You have a little rubber ring to hold the ring in the position until you feel comfortable going ahead and stretching a little more, but it takes time because if you go too fast you WILL rip your ear and that can only be fixed with surgery. This info was given to me by a girl who works at the head shop in Yellow Springs and has lots of piercings and guages herself. For future reference, if you want a gauge like that next time, you can use a hollow needle for your next piercing. Of course, it’s permanent but if you gauge too big, so is that, the body will only stretch and shrink back so much. Talk to people at your fave piercing shop. Hope this helps some.

Diamond stud earrings: how to get the most for your money

Rule #1: Always buy a set you can afford. The idea is to go for the brightest diamond that sits well within your budget. Rule #2: Be particularly careful with the setting. In the past, most women jumped at yellow gold. Now, you don’t have to do that. Not with options like platinum, silver and white gold in the fray. The advantage of white gold is that it can make diamond stud earrings appear larger than they really are. The whiteness of the gold can also increase the sparkle of the stud.

Rule #3: Choose the right size and color. If you are planning to buy just one pair, keep the size poised in such a way that you can use the earrings for official as well as informal events. A highly jazzy setting will not suit business attire very well.
